Frein is place on a thick machinist's scale, two inches from the end.

The blade of the frein is pushed closely around the end of the scale.

These freins have the blade bent at 45 degrees to the brace.The angle can be checked with the square head on the machinist's scale.

The tail of the frein is bent using a small clamp.

Frein is clamped to the scale so it does not move when bent.

Bend is almost complete.

Make sure the blade is square to the brace.

The brace of the frein is pushed as closely as possible to the clamp.
